Body and Brain - students will learn about parts of the brain and their functions. They will learn about the nervous system, the amygdala, the vagus nerve, sympathetic and parasympathetic states, and the fight or flight response.
Coping Strategies - students will learn various ways to cope with anxiety and negative self-talk. They will learn tools to move from the sympathetic state to the parasympathetic state. They will learn how to stimulate their vagus nerve. They will learn how to restructure their brain and their thoughts using the three R’s: recognize, release, and replace.
There are vocabulary words, lessons, discussion questions, and fun activities to go with each of the three main topics.
